This apple pie is just delicious – a huge hit! Such an incredibly easy pie to throw together!
Ingredients
- 1 pie crust
- 8 cups peeled, cored, sliced same type apple
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 Tbs lemon juice
- Topping:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 Tbs granulated sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400
- Place pie crust into deep dish crust, press against sides, trim edges if necessary, flute edges
- In large bowl, mix all filling ingredients, pour into prepared crust
- In medium bowl, use pastry blender to mix butter, flour, and brown sugar until it resembles coarse crumbs; sprinkle evenly over apples. Sprinkle the granulated sugar over the top
- Bake 45-55 minutes or until apples are tender and the filling begins to bubble
