I saw this somewhere and whipped it together – HUGE hit. OMG. SO ooey gooey and the hit of fig and sweet and salty prosciutto – it’s fabulous.. I promise!
Ingredients
- 1 (8-12oz) wheel of brie cheese
- 2-3 Tbsp honey (depending on size of brie wheel)
- 2-3 Tbsp fig preserves
- fresh cracked black pepper
- 1 Tbsp fresh thyme leaves or 1/4 tsp dry thyme
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 4-8 slices thin prosciutto
- 1 egg, beaten
- coarse sparkling sugar, for sprinkling over the top
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425
- Lay thawed puff pastry on parchment paper on a backing sheet. Place wheel of brie in the center of the pastry, score the top in a criss cross pattern using a sharp knife
- Spread fig preserves over the top of the brie, drizzle with the honey, and sprinkle thyme on the top, and the black pepper
- Wrap with prosciutto around the brie, encasing the entire wheel
- Brush pastry with beaten egg, and lightly sprinkle with sparkling sugar
- Bake in preheated oven and bake 20-25 minutes or until brown and crispy
- Serve with crackers or bead or all on its own!
As always – enjoy!
