Making old furniture fun

We inherited all my MIL’s dining room furniture. Not really my favorite, but it was fine for 10 years. It was walnut and oak, NICE quality furniture, just not my style.

So, then we inherited MY parent’s dining room furniture. Way more my speed!

However, we had an extra piece from my MIL that I liked but it did not match at all. I finally figured I would paint it. I mean might as well give it a shot, right?

So I put on a few coats of Kilz primer. I then painted several coats of white paint on top of that (letting it dry really well after each coat). I painted the doors and drawer another color for fun.. But it was still boring.

So I dragged out my Cricut. I selected some fun curlicues and then punched them out. I affixed to the cabinet and commenced to paint. OMG that sounds so Southern. LOL. Actually, DD helped me on this part. We put some on the top, some on the sides, and on the doors/drawer.
