A few years back we redid our kitchen. I despised the old countertops. I was so happy to be done with them – that I let DD draw all over them with Sharpies before they were ripped out – and I had my contractor CUT around the artwork pieces so I could save them 🙂 They hang in the garage now! People were amazed I let her do that – saying “oh, what if the new ones don’t show up on time?” etc etc. Well, I figured that EVENTUALLY that new granite would show up – and if I had to live with fun drawings until then – well, so be it!
