Pecan Pie..

Here is my pecan pie recipe. Note – it’s not “gel-like” as a lot of pies are  – it gets the sweetness from sugar alone.  Most pecan pie recipes call for corn syrup – but not this one..

Pecan Pie:
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 heaping cup pecans
1 unbaked pie shell (homemade or store bought)

Beat the eggs. Add the remaining ingredients, in the order given; work in the nuts. Pour into a 9 inch unbaked pie shell. Bake at 325° for 40-45 minutes.
