Provel cheese. to buy or not to buy…

I will be in St. Louis this week. SHhh – it’s for my Mom’s birthday! Her 83rd – and SHHHH this is a surprise! Don’t call her and ruin the surprise!

Hmmm, shall I buy more provel cheese and bring it home? I just checked my stash and have 2 large blocks. I think I’m okay for now.

However, if I have room in my suitcase I just might bring some toasted raviolis home with me. As well as some of that amazing meat sauce that I can only find in St. Louis. If I freeze it really well and pack it on ice…. AND my flight isn’t delayed…. Yes, it may make it home…

One time DD and I got stuck in the STL airport for 12 hours. I had 15 pounds (3 blocks) of provel with me. We staked out a place by a LARGE air conditioning vent (on the floor). We sat there all day-with my suitcase directly on top of the vent. The cheese arrived back at RDU no worse for wear!

the famous provel cheese that I use to make all my italian food with. most especially the thin crust pizza!

Yes, toasted raviolis are on my “list” to bring home with me if at all possible. Can’t get them here in the south.. Wish me luck!
